Dr. Juerg Brunnschweiler is the scientific director of the Shark Fin Reef nature reserve in Beqa Lagoon. Mike Neumann is the initiator of the shark protection project in Fiji. In 2004, a study was initiated to investigate the migration behavior of bull sharks, with some sharks being tagged with satellite transmitters. These transmitters provide data on routes, depths, and temperatures to satellites, aiming to gain further insights into the behavior of bull sharks.
