Description: Walker Bay on the West Coast of South Africa is not only known for its breathtaking beauty, but also for the unique opportunity to observe whales in their natural habitat. Especially during the months of June to November, fantastic whale watching opportunities are available here for humpback whales and southern right whales. These majestic marine creatures come so close to the shore that they can be admired from land. During numerous visits to this region, I was regularly awakened by the whales appearing right outside my room. Walker Bay impresses not only with its marine inhabitants, but also with a diverse fauna and flora that captivates nature lovers and photographers alike. A special highlight are the unforgettable sunsets that cast the bay in a magical light.
