Description: The Dolos Yard at North Breakwater in the port of Richards Bay, South Africa, served as a production and storage site for the impressive concrete structures. Along a ramp, the 48,500 dolosse were cast and then transported and individually stored with a gantry crane. After hardening, they were placed on the breakwater. Dolosse are a South African invention that provides stability and resistance to waves due to their unique shape.
