These impressive Balaenidae whales can grow up to 18 meters long and primarily inhabit the waters around the South Pole. However, they can also be found in South Africa, South America, and New Zealand. Their main diet consists of krill and other crustaceans. The population of these fascinating creatures has been dramatically reduced due to extensive hunting, leaving only a few individuals remaining.
