Southern Right Whale with unique callosities on its head in the South Atlantic (00011114)
Description: The Southern Right Whale, also known as Eubalaena australis, is a magnificent marine creature distinguished by its distinctive callosities on the head. Measuring up to an impressive 18 meters in length, it is one of the largest whale species. These majestic animals are primarily found in the waters around the South Pole, but can also be spotted in regions such as South Africa, South America, and New Zealand. Their primary diet consists of krill and other small crustaceans. Unfortunately, they have been heavily hunted in the past, leading to a dramatic decline in their population. Nowadays, only a few of these fascinating creatures remain.
