Description: The Southern Right Whale, also known as Eubalaena australis, is a fascinating creature. The distinctive fluke, with its deep notch in the middle, is characteristic of this majestic whale species. These giants of the sea belong to the Balaenidae family and can reach lengths of up to 18 meters. They are found in the waters around the South Pole, as well as in South Africa, South America, and New Zealand. Their main diet consists of krill and other small crustaceans. Unfortunately, Southern Right Whales have been heavily hunted and are now rarely seen.
