Description: The Southern Right Whale, also known as Eubalaena australis, is a magnificent species belonging to the Balaenidae family. This majestic whale can reach lengths of up to 18 meters and inhabits the waters around the South Pole. Feeding primarily on krill and other small crustaceans, the Southern Right Whale can also be found in the waters of South Africa, South America, and New Zealand. Unfortunately, these fascinating creatures have been hunted since the beginning, leading to a dramatic decline in their populations, with only a few individuals remaining.
