Description: The Midway Atoll rises in the North Pacific, 1200 miles northwest of Honolulu. During my stay in July 2001, I explored the picturesque lagoon of this remote South Sea island. The crystal-clear water plays with fascinating colors depending on the sunlight, ranging from bright turquoise to deep blue and fresh green. The sight of the green island with the dazzling white sandy beach against a mostly bright blue sky is unforgettable - a perfect South Sea idyll.
