Description: The Midway Atoll, located 1200 miles northwest of Honolulu, 2800 miles west of San Francisco, and 2200 miles from Japan, is a true paradise in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. During a stay in July 2001, I explored the stunning lagoon of this remote atoll on a daily basis. The clear water plays in the most beautiful colors, from turquoise to green to blue, depending on the sunlight, depth, and seabed. The view of the green island with its white sandy beach and the deep blue sky is simply unforgettable - a perfect South Seas paradise.
