Description: Midway/Hawaiian Islands/USA Located in the picturesque South Seas, the Midway Atoll rises majestically from the turquoise Pacific Ocean. The lush green vegetation of the island creates a breathtaking contrast with the snow-white beach and the crystal-clear lagoon water. During my stay in July 2001, I explored the dreamy surroundings of this remote atoll on a daily basis. The color palette of the lagoon water varies depending on the position of the sun and the underwater terrain, ranging from turquoise to green to deep blue. The view of the green island surrounded by the azure lagoon and the usually bright blue sky is simply unforgettable - a perfect South Seas paradise.
