Description: The Indian Lionfish, also known as Pterois miles, is a breathtaking creature that gracefully glides through the reef. This beautiful fish can be admired in the Red Sea, especially at sunrise and sunset. The erect dorsal fins and spread pectoral fins make it an unforgettable sight. However, be cautious as like all scorpionfish, the Lionfish has venomous spines that it uses for defense. The Pacific species of this fish is called Pterois volitans.
