Description: The masked butterflyfish, also known as Chaetodon semilaryatus, is a fascinating species from the family of butterflyfish that inhabits the clear waters of the Red Sea. With its vibrant yellow color and distinctive black mask, this fish is a true eye-catcher in the coral reef. It usually lives in pairs or small groups and can reach a length of up to 23 cm. Especially in the late afternoon, you can observe this elegant masked butterflyfish swimming among the corals, while the sun casts a golden glow on its iridescent scales.
