Description: The Red Sea Bannerfish (Heniochus intermedius) is a colorful species from the bannerfish family found in the Red Sea. This diurnal fish feeds on zooplankton and is a common sight in the coral reef. Its yellow pectoral fins, tail fin, anal fin, and the posterior soft-rayed portion of the dorsal fin make it a stunning creature. It can grow up to 20 cm in length and is often seen in pairs in the late afternoon.
