Description: South African Fur Seal The South African Fur Seal is known for its extraordinary attentiveness and alertness. On the rocky island called Geyser Rock, in the vicinity of Dyer Island, lives a large seal colony that has to protect itself from the feared Great White Sharks. Diving up to 50 meters deep and staying underwater for up to five minutes, the seals embark on dangerous fishing expeditions, encountering the hunting grounds of Great White Sharks. The high concentration of sharks in this region is attributed to the seal colony, which is an essential part of the marine ecosystem.
