Description: In the Beqa Lagoon off the coast of Vitu Levu in the Fiji Islands, the movement of bull sharks (Carcharhinus leucas) is being studied using acoustic transmitters. Biologist Dr. Juerg Brunnschweiler leads the study in the Shark Fin Reef nature reserve, initiated by Mike Neumann. The sharks are fed fish baits containing small acoustic transmitters to monitor precise movement patterns up to 800 meters.
