Innovative study on the use of acoustic transmitters in shark research on the Fiji Islands (00018053)
Description: In 2004, an exciting study was conducted on the Fiji Islands to monitor the migration behavior of bull sharks. Under the leadership of Dr. Juerg Brunnschweiler, acoustic transmitters were embedded in fish baits to investigate the movement patterns of bull sharks in the Shark Fin Reef in more detail. This method allows tracking the migrations of tagged bull sharks within a radius of up to 800 meters, providing valuable insights into their behavior.
