Description: The majestic Great White Shark, scientifically known as Carcharodon carcharias, cruises the waters off Geyser Rock and Dyer Island on the South African coast. African penguins, cormorants, and a large colony of South African fur seals inhabit this area. As a surface hunter, the Great White Shark often preys on animals at the water's surface. With its impressive size, strength, and fearsome jaws, it poses a constant threat to the South African fur seals around Dyer Island and Geyser Rock. Belonging to the mako shark family, the Great White Shark features large gill slits and long pectoral fins.
