Lemon Shark and Bull Sharks at Sharkpoint in the Bahamas

Description: The Lemon Shark (Negaprion brevirostris) is a fascinating creature that can be found at Shark Beach on Walker's Cay, the northernmost of the 700 Bahamas Islands, searching for food. Growing up to three meters in length, it slowly matures over 12-15 years before reaching sexual maturity. The Lemon Shark has a low reproduction rate and primarily feeds on bony fish and mollusks, but also preys on small sharks, rays, and seabirds. Its nocturnal behavior, preference for coastal areas and shallow waters, as well as the potential danger it poses to humans, make the Lemon Shark a captivating marine animal.
