Here, at the southernmost tip of the African continent, the Atlantic and Indian Oceans merge. The Cape Agulhas lighthouse, built in 1848, still stands strong against the turbulent winds. Its lights reach up to 60 kilometers and guide ships on their way. However, this treacherous cape has been the downfall of many vessels, including the Meisho Maru 38, which met its tragic end here on November 16, 1982.
