Fascinating young Great White Shark off the coast of South Africa

Description: The young Great White Shark, also known as Carcharodon carcharias, is a fascinating creature that lives six sea miles off the coast of Gansbaai, South Africa, near Dyer Island and Gyser Rock. These marine animals are fully developed from birth and have to fend for themselves from the start. Their diet mainly consists of small fish and squids. Pups are extremely cautious and flee immediately when an adult shark appears. Only a few manage to reach adulthood due to various threats they face. Nevertheless, they play a crucial role as top predators at the top of the food chain and contribute to maintaining the ecological balance in the ocean. Great White Sharks have almost no natural enemies except for the Orca, but their survival is severely threatened by human activities.
