Description: A Baby Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias) is spotted six sea miles off the coast of Gansbaai, near Dyer Island and Gyser Rock. These sharks are fully developed at birth, measuring 1.10 to 1.60 meters, and self-sufficient from the start. Their diet consists of small fish and squids. The young sharks are extremely cautious and flee at the sight of an adult shark. Only a few make it to adulthood.
