Baby Great White Shark searching for prey (00016489)
Description: A baby Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias) is seen moving close to the water surface six sea miles from the coast of Gansbaai, near Dyer Island and Geyser Rock. At a length of 1.10 to 1.50 meters, the shark is fully developed and self-sufficient. Its diet consists of smaller fish and squids. Pups are cautious and quickly retreat when adult sharks appear. Only a few make it to adulthood.
