Graceful Blacktip shark (Carcharhinus limbatus) in tropical waters (00003208)
Description: The majestic Blacktip shark (Carcharhinus limbatus) gracefully glides above the sandy bottom of the ocean. These fascinating creatures inhabit tropical and subtropical seas near the coast. With an impressive size of up to 2.6 meters, they move smoothly in depths of up to 30 meters. Witness this breathtaking sight during a dive near Walker's Cay, Abaco Islands, at the northern edge of the Bahamas. In addition to the Caribbean Reef Sharks, you can often admire some Blacktip sharks. Unfortunately, the populations of these fascinating animals have drastically declined worldwide due to overfishing, leading them to be classified as threatened shark species. Blacktip sharks feed on a variety of fish such as sardines, herrings, mackerels, and flat fish.
