With its broad snout and large eyes, this shark is an impressive sight. The species can be identified by the plain or white-tipped first dorsal fin, the dark tips on the other fins, and the broad black rear margin of the tail fin. Most individuals are less than 1.9 m long. Gray reef sharks are fast-swimming, agile predators that primarily feed on fishes and cephalopods.
