Description: The whitetip reef shark (Triaenodon obesus) is a fascinating marine creature that can be seen at the reef edge in Beqa Lagoon, Fiji. With a grey-brown base color and a maximum length of about 200 cm, it is an impressive animal. The distinctive white tip on the first dorsal fin and the tail fin make it unmistakable. Whitetip reef sharks mainly feed on bonefish living on the reef and are an important part of the ecosystem.
