A majestic Whitetip Reef Shark in its natural habitat (00018936)
Description: The whitetip reef shark, also known as Triaenodon obesus, is a fascinating marine creature that calls the waters of Beqa Lagoon in Fiji home. With its grey-brown base color and a maximum length of about 200 cm, this shark is an impressive sight. The white tips on the first dorsal fin and the tail fin are particularly striking. Whitetip reef sharks primarily feed on bony fish living around the reef and play a crucial role in the marine ecosystem.
