Fascinating Whitetip Reef Sharks and Blacktip Reef Shark in the Waters of Fiji

Description: The whitetip reef shark and the blacktip reef shark are fascinating marine creatures that inhabit the clear waters of Fiji. The whitetip reef shark is characterized by its grey-brown coloration and can reach a maximum length of about 200 cm. Its distinctive feature is the white tips on the first dorsal fin and the tail fin. These sharks primarily feed on bony fish living on the reef. On the other hand, the blacktip reef shark can grow up to 160 cm in length and has a similar grey-brown coloration. All fins of this shark have striking black tips, with the tail fin having a black margin. The blacktip reef shark is often found in the intertidal zone and is comfortable in shallow waters. Encounters with this shark species are almost guaranteed at Shark Reef.
