Description: The Fiji Crested Iguana, also known as Brachylophus vitiensis or Vokai, is a unique species of lizard found only on the Fijian islands. With its deep green color, distinctive white horizontal stripes, and yellow nose tip, it is a fascinating creature of nature. This particular lizard was only discovered in 1979 and is now critically endangered. Its habitat is limited to some small islands such as Yadua Taba in the Yasawas, Monuriki and Monu in the Mamanucas, and the northern coast of Viti Levu, specifically Macuata Island. The protection status of the Fiji Crested Iguana is critically endangered according to IUCN guidelines.
