Description: The Fiji Crested Iguana, also known as Brachylophus vitiensis or Vokai, Vokai Votovoto, basks in the warming rays of the sun on the rocks. This rare lizard, found only on a few remote islands of the Fiji group, was first discovered in 1979. The habitats of the Fiji Crested Iguana include Yadua Taba in the Yasawas, Monuriki and Monu in the Mamanucas, and the northern coast of Viti Levu (Macuata Island). As a critically endangered species (Critically Endangered under IUCN), the Fiji Crested Iguana is at risk of extinction.
