Description: The African Wild Dog, also known as Lycaon pictus, is a fascinating predator that inhabits the bush and tree-covered savannas of Africa south of the Sahara. This image captures an adorable Wild Dog pup taking a short break from play. Pups of this species are born black with irregular white markings and later develop yellow-brown hues. Adult African Wild Dogs are endangered and are rarely seen in large wildlife reserves.
