Description: The African Wild Dog, also known as Lycaon pictus, is a fascinating animal with a unique appearance and behavior. This little pup is curiously exploring the vastness of the African bush. The scientific name 'Lycaon pictus' means 'Painted Wolf' and refers to the distinctive spotted pattern of these animals. Pups are born black with white spots, which are later complemented by yellow-brown tones. African Wild Dogs are highly social animals that live in packs and inhabit the bush and tree-covered savannas south of the Sahara.
