Description: The Great Frigatebird (Fregata minor palmerstoni) is resting. Currently, there are 95 breeding pairs of these majestic birds on Eastern Island. Frigatebirds are known for their impressive flying skills, with a wingspan of up to two meters and a weight of less than two kilograms. They hunt flying fish, squids, and other surface-dwelling fish. Hatchling turtles and seabird chicks are among their prey. With their strategic aerial tactics, they are also infamous as air pirates, attacking other birds to steal their catch.
