Description: The Great Frigatebird, also known as Fregata minor palmerstoni, is a fascinating bird that lived on Eastern Island in 2001. With a wingspan of two meters and a weight of less than two kilograms, these birds are extremely talented flyers. They mainly feed on flying fish, but also hunt squid and other fish species near the water's surface. Newly hatched turtles and seabird chicks are particularly vulnerable.
