Description: The common warthog (Phacochoerus africanus) is a fascinating creature that inhabits the open, arid landscapes of Africa south of the Sahara. Known for their distinctive facial warts, especially in males, they are a sight to behold. These vegetarians primarily feed on grass and often live in small groups. Their main predators include lions, wild dogs, hyenas, and eagles. The desert warthog once lived in the Cape Province but was exterminated in the early 20th century.
