Description: The Blue Crane (Anthropoides paradiseus) is South Africa's national bird and an endangered species. On the Overberg Blue Crane Routes, you can observe these majestic birds searching for food. With a bit of luck, you may even witness the famous 'Dancing Blue Cranes' phenomenon. The Caledon area in the Cape Province is home to over half of the global population of these fascinating birds.
