Description: The Blue Crane (Anthropoides paradiseus) is South Africa's national bird and is critically endangered. This majestic bird can be admired along the Overberg Blue Crane Routes. If you're lucky, you might even witness the famous 'dancing Blue Cranes'. The Swellendam/Bredasdorp region in the Cape Province of South Africa is home to over half of the global Blue Crane population.
