Description: The graceful swift tern, also known as Sterna bergii, can be spotted all year round on the islands off the coast of South Africa. They often nest alongside Hartlaub's gulls, as seen here on Dyer Island. Swift terns primarily feed on small fish, crustaceans, and mollusks that they find near the coast. These majestic birds are a captivating sight as they glide gracefully over the water.
