Description: The white tern, also known as White Fairy Tern or Gygis alba rothchildi, is a delicate, snow-white bird with large, black-rimmed eyes. Its appearance seems straight out of a fairy tale, especially when flying against the deep blue sky. The birds fly over the sea to catch fish, elegantly diving into the water and feeding their young in the evening. Thousands of these fascinating birds breed on the Midway Islands.
