Flying Cape Gannet (Morus capensis) (00004515)
Description: The Cape Gannet (Morus capensis) breeds on the islands off the coasts of South Africa and Namibia. Easily identified by their black and white plumage and distinctive yellow crown, they resemble Bass and Australtoelpel. These seabirds are often seen hunting above fish shoals and use plunge diving to catch their prey. The spectacle of them diving from heights of 10 to 30 meters into the sea is truly captivating.
