Description: The Laysan albatross, scientifically known as Phoebastria immutabilis, is an impressive species of albatross native to the North Pacific regions. The Midway Islands host the largest breeding colony of these majestic birds worldwide. With a wingspan of 2.1 meters and a weight of 2.4 kg, they are true flying artists. These birds spend about 90% of their lives in the air, skillfully navigating vast oceans and returning to the islands for breeding every year.
