Description: The Masked Booby (Sula dactylatra) is an impressive seabird that often breeds on the ground. There are only a few individuals on Eastern Island, but there is hope for a recovery of the population. With a wingspan of up to 1.70 meters and a length of about 80 centimeters, the Masked Booby is the largest representative of its genus. Its diet mainly consists of Flying Fish, Squid, and other small fish. Unfortunately, humans and introduced species are the biggest threats to these fascinating birds.
