Description: The Brown Noddy (Anous stolidus pileatus) is a dark-plumaged seabird commonly found in the Pacific region. On Midway Island in the Hawaiian Islands, it is a prevalent species. This tropical seabird is known for its cooperative hunting behavior for small fish and plankton directly from the water surface. The Brown Noddy nests in colonies on cliffs or in short trees and shrubs. Each breeding season, the female lays a single egg and fiercely protects her chick from perceived threats.
