Red-footed Boobys on the tree

Description: The Red-footed Booby, also known as Sula sula, is a captivating seabird native to the Midway Atoll. Only about 750 pairs of these beautiful birds nest on the remote Eastern Island. When hunting for fish, they fly far out to sea and dive from great heights to catch their prey. Their graceful flying skills and bright red legs make them impressive hunters. The name 'Booby' is quite misleading for these majestic birds. They are characterized by their white plumage, black wingtips, blue bill, and striking red legs and feet.
