Description: The Red-footed Booby, also known as Rotfußtoelpel or scientifically Sula sula, is a captivating seabird native to the Midway Atoll. With bright red legs and feet, a blue bill, and black wingtips, they are truly a sight to behold. These birds only breed on Eastern Island, where approximately 750 pairs reside. They are skilled hunters, flying far out to sea in search of fish and diving into the water from great heights. Despite their misleading name, they are far from clumsy and exhibit remarkable grace and agility.
