Description: The Red-footed Booby, also known as Rotfußtoelpel, is a bird species native to the Midway Atoll. On the island, only about 750 pairs of Red-footed Boobies breed, primarily on Eastern Island. These elegant birds are renowned for their fishing skills. They fly far out to sea and plunge from great heights to catch their prey. With their striking features such as bright red legs and feet, black wingtips, and blue bill, they are a truly remarkable sight.
