Description: The Red-footed Booby (Sula sula) is native to Midway Atoll and primarily breeds on Eastern Island. With only about 750 breeding pairs, they are considered rare birds in this region. These elegant birds are excellent hunters, flying long distances over the sea in search of fish and plunging from great heights to catch their prey. Despite their name, Red-footed Boobies are anything but clumsy, showcasing beautiful white feathers, black wingtips, a blue beak, and bright red legs and feet.
