Description: A baby Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias) is gliding through the greenish water. Six sea miles from the coast of Gansbaai, quite close to Dyer Island and Gyser Rock, a Great White Shark only a few days old is seen moving close to the water surface. Great White Sharks are fully developed after birth and can take care of themselves from the start. Their nourishment consists of smaller fish and squids. Pups are very careful and vanish off the scene as soon as they see a full-grown shark. Only very few pups reach adulthood.
