Description: The Baby Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias) is on the hunt for prey. Near Gansbaai and Dyer Island, the young shark moves cautiously below the water surface. After birth, Great White Sharks are already fully developed and must fend for themselves from the start. Their diet consists of small fish and squids. Pups are very timid and quickly flee when an adult shark appears.
