Description: A captivating image of a Baby Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias) swimming in the center of the incident sun rays. This few days old shark pup was captured off the coast of Gansbaai, near Dyer Island and Gyser Rock. Great White Sharks are born fully developed and independent, feeding on small fish, rays, and squids. The cautious young sharks flee at the sight of an adult shark. Only a few Baby Great White Sharks survive to adulthood.
