Description: The majestic Female Barbary Lion Panthera leo leo is peacefully resting in the shade of a tree in the African bush. This fascinating big cat once roamed North Africa but became extinct in the wild in 1910. However, there are still a few specimens of these impressive animals today, albeit not in the wild but in zoos and with private individuals.
